Description
(HKYSO) will take the stage with a richly evocative repertoire, and embark on a journey of fantasy to exotic lands with music aficionados! Music Office Instructor Dr Joseph Kam will lead the HKYSO to open the concert with the lively and whimsical overture from Smetana’s comic opera The Bartered Bride. The emerging cellist cum Music Office alumnus Alex Lau and the HKYSO will jointly present Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor, and unfurl the passionate soul of Bohemia through music intertwined with majesty and tenderness. Rimsky-Korsakov’s timeless Scheherazade will spin a tapestry of 1,001 enchanted tales into a vibrant ode to love underneath a Middle Eastern night sky.
